Tuesday November 26, TF1 broadcast the first part of the final of Koh-Lanta, The Cursed Tribe. At the end of the orienteering race, three of them qualified for the poles: Thibault, Ilyesse and Charlotte. This is how the adventure ends for Cécile and Jacques. The latter marked the game with his prowess in the tests but also with his sympathy and his increasingly funny lines. Like earlier in the game, when his mother came all the way to the Philippines to see him as a reward for a comfort game… and he confused her with his sister! Near PurepeopleJacques explains this moment which viewers found hilarious.

You had the chance to hug your mother. How did you feel at that moment?

Lots of love for my mom. I realize that she has traveled thousands of kilometers, we find ourselves here on this island. My whole family was so afraid of what would happen to me there. So it’s true that it was a very powerful moment. And then in these survival conditions, emotions are exacerbated. I feel like a little boy who finds his mother, who is fragile and falling apart. Because that's what happened: I really fell apart in his arms. I cry every time I watch this passage.

The sequence was moving but also funny since you cannot distinguish your mother from your sister. How do you take it?

I take it very well. People laugh and make fun of nothing. But I want to say that my mother and my sister are really alike. We are still very far away! I cried for all the people who were receiving loved ones. I couldn't see anything anymore. We can't see it but at one point, I open my eyes with my fingers because between my blue eyes dazzled by the sun and the crying that hasn't stopped, I couldn't see anything anymore. I guess we all know what it's like to cry so much that you can't see anything anymore. That's why I didn't recognize mom. It's not because I'm crazy, it's just that I cried a lot before.
