Dr. Gregory House (Hugh Laurie) is the chief of diagnostic medicine at Princeton-Plainsboro Hospital in New Jersey. His job, and that of his team of hand-picked specialists, is to solve the rare and puzzling cases that come their way, and the chief physician will do anything to do so.
Considered a genius with a passion for solving puzzles, Dr. House is however as self-centered, antisocial, cynical, arrogant and scathing as he is brilliant, and above all addicted to painkillers and who has no regard for ethics. Unorthodox in his methods and completely obnoxious, he nevertheless manages to solve the impossible…
From its beginnings in 2004, Dr. House has focused on originality. Irreverent as its protagonist, the medical series is nevertheless endearing: this is how it quickly seduced a large audience passionate about its complicated episodic “investigations.” Indeed, the brilliant Dr. House – who was almost played by this other cult doctor from the series – and his team of experts spend each episode solving a most complex medical mystery. And if it’s not lupus, what could it be?
