Find out who won the “Masked Singers” show

Singer Gabrielle Destroismaisons won the “Masked Singers” competition on Sunday evening.

Under the Swan finery, she amazed the gallery by magnificently covering the title “Une chance qu’on s’a” by Jean-Pierre Ferland.

“It was one of the best experiences of my life. It was so much fun from start to finish. And the end… it’s something that I didn’t expect at all, but not at all,” she told the QMI Agency, still very moved by her victory and touched by having been mistaken for singers she admires, such as Isabelle Boulay, Luce Dufault and Cindy Daniel.

Having not had to change his voice, as some of his masked colleagues did during the season to cultivate a mystery around them, the interpreter of Fleur-de-Lys in Notre-Dame-de- (2000) was convinced that it would be easily identified.

“I don’t think my name came up once…and not that much on social media either. I don’t know if it’s because people are used to hearing me in another register… I think they’re not used to hearing me on walks like the ones I had the chance to do to do on the show,” she said, admitting to having had certain doubts about her skills herself.

“Sometimes I lacked confidence for certain songs. Marie-Ève Riverin (vocal coach) and Martin Proulx (content producer) really helped me to have confidence in my voice and in what I could do. They guided me so well. In the end, it was such a charm to go into the studio,” confided the “Et Cetera” singer.

“I stepped out of my comfort zone. I feel like I’ve grown up and I’m happy to have shown this side of me through the Swan,” she continued.

The latter, who refused the production’s offer a few times before agreeing to participate in the show, revealed that she had a pang in her heart when taking off her costume for the last time, despite her apprehensions from the beginning.

“I had no idea what I was getting myself into. I was a little afraid to wear a suit. To be hot or panic. But I loved my costume so much. I was hot! And the head was still heavy and very high. It was quite an adaptation just to be able to walk with it, but I really enjoyed it and it was touching for me to say to him: ”Bye Swan. You brought me luck. We did this together. It seems like he’s almost become a friend,” she confided.

Back to the final

Gabrielle Destroismaisons faced Betty Beth and the Zebra in the final, who also appeared on Sunday evening.

The host of “It ends well the week”, Julie Bélanger, was in the costume of the earthen vegetable while the actor Benoît McGinnis, who is currently shining in the drama “The Return of Anna Brodeur”, was in the equine costume.
