When finally discovering the sequel to your favorite series, after a year and a half of waiting, there is always a little anxiety. Will the plot and the characters really live up to our hopes and our patience? This question arises each time a series returns to the screen, but it also sometimes comes up between two halves of a season, when the broadcaster chooses to make the pleasure (or the torture, your choice…) last a little longer by dividing a salvo into two parts. Fans ofOutlander know it well, after all, they are experienced! They have therefore been waiting for part 2 of season 7 since summer 2023! A year and six months wondering if Roger will succeed in saving his son Jemmy, or what the return to Scotland has in store for Jamie and Claire, wondering about the potential couple between Ian and Rachel and trying to understand how old characters who have been dead for a long time will be able to return to the story, as has been announced. This time, the “droughtlander” (name which refers to the wait between seasons ofOutlander) ends: part 2 of season 7 is broadcast on Netflix from Saturday, November 23.
Outlander season 7, part 2: a moving reunion in Scotland
You can immediately be reassured: Outlander does not disappoint, on the contrary ! The first three episodes to which Tele-Leisure was able to have access to reconnect with the great moments of the series, in particular by returning to Scotland. If this passage will ultimately be quite brief, it of course recalls the beginnings of the series, the great moments of this first season which will remain forever in our hearts. The actors like to say that Scotland is a character in its own right in the series, but that is indeed the case. We therefore appreciate finding its magnificent landscapes as well as cult places, starting with Lallybroch, and familiar faces, those of Jenny (even if the actress has changed) and her husband Ian. A reunion that is bound to be moving, after all these years.
Outlander season 7, part 2: tasty scenes with old characters and a major discovery for Roger
It's no secret that this second part of season 7 actually brings back old characters from the series. Jenny and Ian are not the only ones. In Scotland, Jamie also finds Laoghaire, for a few scenes, one of which is particularly tasty. If you, like me, rewatched season 1 recently, it will bring back memories of this young girl who had no qualms about having Claire accused of witchcraft, under the pretext that she had “stolen” Jamie from her! But it's not the only one. Roger, who crossed the stones to find his son, will also go from surprise to surprise during his journey, putting faces to names that he has heard a lot about. But he will also make a major discovery, which proves that, even after seven seasons, Outlander never ceases to surprise us!
Outlander season 7, part 2: heartbreaking scenes for Claire and Jamie
These first episodes also offer us heartbreaking scenes, in which Caitriona Balfe and Sam Heughan once again put all their hearts. Here again, we have the feeling of returning to the most tragic hours of the series, when Claire and Jamie had to face multiple separations and tragedies. By watching these episodes, both tragic and very nostalgic, we almost have the feeling of witnessing the prelude to a finale. But, no, if these episodes are, as always, to be savored, they will indeed be followed by season 8 ofOutlander which will put an end to the adventures of Claire, Jamie, Brianna and Roger.
