Florent Peyre: “We filmed for four months in Guadeloupe”
During an interview given to our colleagues from Tele-LeisureFlorent Peyre confided that the filming of Commander Saint-Barth took place in Guadeloupe: “We filmed for four months in Guadeloupe.” The actor spoke of the warm welcome and enthusiasm of the island’s inhabitants: “We felt that on the island, everyone knew about the filming of the series. As a result, I often met people who told me: ‘Ah, you’re spinning!’ I thought it was great!”
Florent Peyre: How he managed remote filming
If filming in the Caribbean made Florent Peyre dream, he also had to adapt to being away from his loved ones: “When I learned that we were going to film in Guadeloupe, I went to see my wife and my son and I told them: ‘Sorry, I’m going away for work for several months! I will have to stay focused all the time. But we can FaceTime each other, right?!’ [Il rit, ndlr].” More seriously, the 44-year-old actor explained that he wanted to fully immerse himself in this ambitious project: “I decided to spend the first 15 days alone because I really wanted to immerse myself in this universe. I was a little apprehensive, it was the first time I had taken the lead on such an ambitious project.” Once acclimatized, Florent Peyre brought his family: “My parents, my wife and my son joined me, and the little one stayed with me for three months. He even went to school there and lived his best life.” A shoot which thus transformed into an unforgettable family adventure, offering the actor a double satisfaction: that of carrying out a major project while sharing unique moments with his loved ones.
