A new star joins the cast of actors Dexter Original Sinthe prequel to the series about the serial killer, and she is no stranger to the world of series!
A little over a year ago in February 2023, a new series was announced. For all fans of Dexter this announcement had the effect of a tornado: a prequel around the youth of the serial killer. Failing to have a sequel, the phenomenon series with Michael C Hall, Jennifer Carpenter or even James Remar will therefore have a pre-story. The new version keeps the same ingredients with the presence of executive producer and showrunner Clyde Phillips but also the presence of Michael C. Hall as executive producer.
What the new series will be about Dexter Original Sin ?
In the original series, we meet the character of Dexter at a point in his life where he is already established at the Miami scientific police during the day and works as a serial killer at night. In his work, he is a big shot and in his “art” he officiates with great mastery and a lot of meticulousness. He leads this well-checked double life until the day when another killer puts him in difficulty and blows his cover. In the series Original Sinwe will discover young Dexter in 1991 when the young man is caught between his studies and his thirst for blood. In the initial series, we witnessed through flashbacks his father’s work and the construction of a code of ethics to control his son’s impulses. This part of Dexter’s life will therefore be in the spotlight in the new version.
A casting already announced
Little surprise revealed by the American site Varietythe big American star herself, a regular on the small screen Sarah Michelle Gellar, known in particular for her role as a vampire hunter in the series Buffy joins the cast of the prequel. She will play Tanya Martin, the head of the Miami Metro Police, Dexter Morgan’s superior. Alongside her will be Irish actor Patrick Gibson for the character of Dexter, Christian Slater who plays Harry Morgan Dexter’s father, Patrick Dempsey who will play Aaron Spencer, the captain of the Miami police, Molly Brown who will play Debra Dexter’s sister and Christina Milian who will play Maria Laguerta. An enticing list for a project produced by Paramount already eagerly awaited.
