After wowing critics and viewers, Silothe excellent science fiction series with Rebecca Ferguson, returns for a new season 2 on Apple + from November 15, 2024. Do these new episodes live up to our expectations? Here is the Télé-Loisirs review.

Qualified as the best science fiction series of 2023, Silo has since had a heavy responsibility not to disappoint! Viewers, having loved the first season, have been impatiently awaiting the second salvo for a year and a half. A wait which is now coming to an end since from November 15, 2024, Apple TV+ unveils season 2 of Silo at the rate of one episode per week. Based on the second half of volume 1 of Hugh Howey's book, these new releases pick up after the events of the end of season 1 and focus on two main storylines. We find Juliette (Rebecca Ferguson) outside silo 18. After discovering a desert and disturbing world, she heads towards silo 17. Once inside, she realizes that the interior is dilapidated and probably uninhabited. (unless that’s not the case…). In his old house, in silo 18, the inhabitants have been confused since his departure and it does not take long for a rebellion to break out. This season 2 of Silo Is it at the level of the previous one? Here is the opinion of Télé-Loisirs.

Actress Rebecca Ferguson is truly incredible in season 2 of Silo

As Juliette ventures into a desolate world, she discovers a silo that is half flooded and at first glance uninhabited. The series manages to grab us from the first minutes and we dive intensely into everything that happens to the heroine. The first episode of this season 2 reminds us of what we felt when we watched the pilot for the first time. The Walking Dead. Like a silent film, this opus puts us under pressure. Impossible to take our eyes off the screen; time passes but we don’t see it pass. Why is this silo in this state? What happened to the residents? And what will happen to Juliette? The questions rush through our heads and we tell ourselves that we are ready for the trip. Actress Rebecca Ferguson is truly incredible as this character who will never stop fighting and will end up getting answers to questions we didn't see coming.

Silo season 2: the ultimate science fiction series not to be missed!

As for the inhabitants of silo 18, their evolution is interesting. If some people no longer hide their intentions, we remain surprised by some twists and turns, like the character of Benard. It is indeed fascinating to discover how the rebellion takes shape, as well as the stratagems, manipulations and plots that result from it. Knox and Shirley are becoming more and more important and season 2 explores their relationship in more depth, which is nice. At the same time, we can't wait to unravel the secret of these silos, which gave the series its title. The latter deals with a moving human story, the characters struggling to taste freedom. The writing is sharp and intelligent with a direction that leaves us speechless. The quality of Silo and the talent of the actors are undeniable. The only small downside that we note in this season 2 is that it could have been condensed into less than ten episodes to avoid certain lengths. If you liked the first season, you will not be disappointed by this salvo, which confirms its status as the best science fiction series of recent years.
