The national Football team arrived in Franceville on Wednesday evening, where they will face their Gabonese counterparts on Friday during the fifth matchday of the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers. The tournament is set to take place from December 21, 2025, to January 18, 2026, in Morocco.
Upon arrival at M’Vengue El Hadj Omar Bongo Ondimba Airport, the national team delegation was welcomed by the Moroccan Ambassador to Gabon, Abdellah Sbihi, alongside members of the Gabonese Football Federation and embassy representatives from the Kingdom.

Already qualified for AFCON 2025 as the host nation, Morocco is placed in Group B alongside Gabon, Central African Republic, and Lesotho.
Morocco leads the group with 12 points, while Gabon sits in second place with seven points, ahead of the Central African Republic (3 points). Lesotho, already eliminated, is languishing at the bottom with just one point.

For the final two matchdays of the AFCON qualifiers, head coach Walid Regragui has called upon 26 players.
