You simply had to look at Amir Albazi’s blood-stained face to understand that he had lost his fight against Brandon Moreno, Saturday night in Edmonton, in the final of UFC Fight Night.
Moreno won by unanimous decision of the judges to return to the picture for a possible championship fight at flyweight.
Albazi, however, represented one of the toughest opponents: undefeated in the UFC, he returned to the octagon after major health problems which required heart and neck operations.
But it was the more experienced Moreno who dominated from start to finish. Moreno isn’t a former flyweight champion for nothing.
The Mexican really needed this victory to dream of the title again, having suffered defeat against Brandon Royval and Alexandre Pantoja in his last two fights.
