The road came to an end and the journey was enchanting from the beginning until the last second! Agatha All Along, the new Marvel series, unveiled its last two episodes on Thursday October 31, 2024 in France on Disney+ and they had many surprises in store for us. While the fan theory about the identity of the teenager (Joe Locke) as Billy, the reincarnated son of Wanda Maximoff, was proven correct, other twists and turns that we had not seen come happened. If things seem clear with this finale, we can nevertheless ask ourselves a few questions. Tele-Leisure brings you some clarifications.
Agatha All Allong : what happened to Nicholas Scratch and why Agatha no longer wants to see Rio, aka Death?
The finale ofAgatha All Along provides many answers, including what really happened to Nicholas Scratch, Agatha's son. It turns out he was supposed to die in childbirth. But when Rio, aka Death, came to collect the baby's soul, Agatha (Kathryn Hahn) begged her to let him live. Unfortunately, she was unable to respond favorably to this request. However, out of love for Agatha, Rio offered her the opportunity to spend additional time with him before he died at a later date. It was only a few years later that the young boy died and Death came to claim his soul. Since then, Agatha has never forgiven her former love.
Does the witch route really exist in Agatha All Along ?
It began as a song about “The Windy Road” that Agatha taught her son Nicholas Scratch to sing centuries ago. The lyrics became “down the Witches' Road” by fraud. Nicholas performed this ballad in public to earn money and help his mother lure other witches into her clutches to absorb their power. After the death of her son, the grieving witch began to use this ballad to bring the legend to life on this mythical Witches' Route and therefore used it as a ruse to seize magic and life force of many witches over the centuries. In reality, the witches' route does not exist! The mythical path that the witches take in the series Agatha All Along is actually a creation of Billy. The young boy used, without realizing it, his reality-altering powers.
Did Agatha really die in the finale ofAgatha All Along ?
The fact that Billy is still alive goes against natural laws. Rio must therefore remedy this. However, he must surrender himself because if Death kills him he will be reborn in another form and Rio will no longer know what body he is in. But while Wanda's reincarnated son was about to sacrifice himself to save Agatha, the latter changes her mind and decides to sacrifice herself in his place. She tastes Death's kiss with Rio and dies. Indeed, Rio could “harvest” either Billy or Agatha because he only needed one soul. She eventually took Agatha, allowing Billy to live freely. So Agatha is really dead. However, she returned as a ghost and confessed to Billy why she didn't want to join the afterlife: facing her son is too hard for her and she can't manage it at the moment. Billy reassures her that Nicholas won't hate her. However, Agatha chooses to stay on Earth a little longer as a ghost and team up with Billy to help her find Tommy, her newly reincarnated brother.
