Last July, during San Diego Comic-Con, Netflix announced that it was not renewing a series which had nevertheless won over critics and Internet users.
Animated series are on the rise on Netflixbut few of them have achieved a score as perfect as Blood of Zeus. 100% recommended by reviews on the site Rotten Tomatoes and 93% by the public, the series tells the story of Heron, a poor and rejected young man, who lives alone with his mother near a small town. But his life changes when he learns the truth about his birth from his mother Electra as well as the identity of his father. He discovers that the purpose of his existence is to save the world from a demonic army, whose appearance stems from the deadly war fought at the birth of the world between the gods and the Titans. Only two months after its broadcast, Netflix announced the renewal of Blood of Zeus for a second season, the episodes of which were put online on May 15. Since then, subscribers have been wondering if the animated series would be entitled to a third chapter.
Will there be a season 3 of Blood of Zeus ?
It was during their visit to San Diego Comic-Con that Vlas and Charley Parlapanides, the creators of Blood of Zeusannounced that the series would have a third season, but that it would also be the last. If they have not confirmed the reasons behind this cancellation, they nevertheless gave clues as to what awaits us. “In Season 3, we are excited to continue the story of Heron, Seraphim and the gods as they face their most dangerous adversaries yet, Typhon, Cronus and the Titans”they said. If no specific release date for season 3 of Blood of Zeus has not been communicated, Vlas and Charley Parlapanides have affirmed that it will be broadcast in 2025.
Blood of Zeus back with a season 2 after three years of absence
This announcement comes two months after the release of season 2 of Blood of Zeus. After three years of absence, the animated series marked its comeback with the arrival of a second chapter as successful as the previous one. In this second salvo, made up of eight episodes, we find Heron who, consumed by mourning, hears in his dreams a mysterious refrain which urges him to save his brother, Séraphin, prey to the terrors of the Underworld. Unbeknownst to Heron, Hades, the god of the Underworld, attempts to enlist him to help him seize the vacant throne from Zeus and save his family from the suffering they have endured for so long.
