Before knowing who the camp leaders or the grandfather and grandson of Gers will win, Axel explains to Tele-Leisure how he managed to manage his studies in journalism in Toulouse and the filming of the show.

Axel and Jean-Claude became known during season 15 of Beijing Express, In the land of the golden eagle which took them to Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan and Jordan, where they had to abandon during the trek in the desert. They had been eliminated in the quarter-finalsbut knew how to seduce the public thanks to their complicity and their touching relationship. This is why the production chose to call them to join the cast of the All-stars season, The epic of the maharajascurrently broadcast on M6. Having reached the final with his grandfather, Axel had to put aside his studies during filming which took place in March 2024, in India, for around three weeks. “My first Beijing Express, in 2022, I was at university so it was less complicated, they are less careful. I had my two best friends covering for me. There, I was in journalism school so I had to go see my director. It stressed me out that he wouldn’t let me go, but he was super understanding and I thank him. If he had told me no, I don’t know what I would have done…”tells the candidate who will compete in the final broadcast this Saturday, October 19.
The production of Beijing Express talks about the pace of filming: “On the All-star seasons, we allow ourselves to turn a little faster”
For this All-stars season, made up of seven emblematic pairs, the filming was faster than on classic editions, as confided to Tele-Leisure the producer of the show Thierry Guillaume. “The filming of All-stars, we do an episode in two days. Whereas for a classic season it takes three days. But as we know that they are used to, in quotes, they are good customers who will give us a lot of material, we allow ourselves to turn a little faster. Usually, the filming time is between 40 and 45 days.
