“Here it all begins” Summary in advance of the episode of May 23, 2024
Solal has a crush on Thelma
Thelma and Solal discuss their evening spent at the Coffee Shop. The young woman regrets that Solal left so early. Solal explains to him that he had to study because he has exams today. . Thelma reminds him of the importance of relaxing too. Besides, partying last night allowed him to take his mind off things and forget about the negative criticisms from chef Armand. Solal points out that she seemed very close to David and Thibault when he left. Thelma admits that she hit it off well with David. They spent a good part of the evening together. However, David did not return to the boarding school last night. Solal is worried because his friend has just come out of rehab. Thelma reassures him by telling him that he has not consumed alcohol. She adds that they went to the beach, but that they had much better things to do than swim… Solal blames the blow.
A little later, David returns to his night spent with Thelma. He confides in Solal… He preaches the false in order to know the truth. David makes him believe that they will continue to see each other to share intimate moments. Solal loses his temper and then admits to his friend that he hasn’t stopped thinking about Thelma since this morning. David tries to reassure him by telling him that he has no feelings for her and that he can easily erase her from his mind.
Tom foils Chief Cardone’s plan
At the Institute, the time has come to vote! The students take turns near the urn. When Tom’s turn arrives, he tells Antoine and Rose that it is a very good idea to consult the students about this specialization thing. Rose reveals to him that it was Chief Cardone who came up with the idea of the vote. Tom does not hide his surprise. Rose hands him a pen to sign the register, but drops it on the floor. Picking it up, Tom notices the presence of a camera hidden on the shelf. Troubled, he said nothing about his discovery.
A few minutes later, at Double A, Livio asks Tom if he has found out about the students who are trying to harm Cardone. Tom protects Billie and preaches falsehood to know the truth. During the conversation, Livio blurts out that they will soon have proof of the identity of the students who are attacking Cardone. Tom pretends to have forgotten an ingredient at the commissary to rush out of the kitchen.
Right at that moment, Billie goes to the CDI which is deserted at this time. She takes out the messages from her bag on which she had printed “Cardone resignation” when suddenly, Tom bursts into the room. He kisses Billie and whispers to her that there is a camera, then he asks the young woman to slap him, which she does.
At the end of the day, Rose and Antoine counted the votes in front of Chief Cardone. 75% of students are against specialization. A little later, Cardone finds Livio and takes him into his confidence. She thought that the students who denigrated her would take advantage of this to rig the vote or replace the ballots with insults. She deduces that something prevented these students from carrying out their plan. Annabelle ensures that Livio was sufficiently discreet when he placed the camera at the CDI. Livio assures him that this is the case. Then, Annabelle shows the images to Livio. He flinches when he sees Tom kissing Billie.
Kelly wins the Coupe de France but…
In Brittany, today is the day when the highly anticipated final of the Coupe de France de Cuisine takes place. Jim joins Jasmine on the castle terrace. The young woman asks her boyfriend to tell her the truth. Jim assures that he did not sabotage Kelly’s brigade. But Jasmine has doubts. She knows full well that Jim would do anything to help her. “In the kitchen” emphasizes Marc’s son. Then, he confides to Jasmine that he went to the hospital to see Salomé, because he felt guilty. They met at the castle and he said to himself that if they had come home together, he could have helped her at the time of her accident. Jasmine tells him that he can talk to her about this kind of thing and that he doesn’t need to keep it all to himself. Jim agrees with him before telling him that he still has a little trouble showing his emotions. Then he adds: “I want you to win, Jasmine, but I would never hurt your friends for that.” Jasmine asks him for forgiveness for accusing him.
Meanwhile, Teyssier finds Laetitia out of sight and ensures that Kelly was able to work on her sugar dome, because the judges will be uncompromising on its execution. “A little” replies Laetitia before explaining that it is not easy for Kelly, Salomé and Maya to work with everything that is happening at the moment. They are almost certain that it is Jim who has been sabotaging the squad all along. Teyssier wants the brigade to concentrate on their event. He will take care of unmasking the culprit. He then confides to Laetitia that he is not worried about cooking for the test, but he thinks that the mind will fail. Teyssier then asks Laetitia to tell Kelly to trust herself. If she made it to the final, it’s not for nothing. Laetitia takes notes. A few minutes later, she found her daughter and her brigade. She reads aloud to them the words of encouragement that Teyssier spoke to them. In particular, he believes that Maya deserves his respect doubly for having come to help Kelly and Salomé and for annoying Cardone. As for Salomé, he finds that she is a brilliant chef who knows what she wants. Laetitia adds that Teyssier is counting on their team cohesion. This shower of compliments reenergizes the brigade. And it is with a determined step that Salomé, Kelly and Maya enter the room of the Palais des Congrès. Laetitia and Lionel are present to support them morally.
Chef Delobel introduces the two brigades present to chef Julien Hennote (chef of the starred restaurant “Le Leur Pas” located in Dinard) who joins the jury for the final. Then, chef Rosset kicks off the event.
Meanwhile, Teyssier conducts his investigation. He questions the bouncer of the nightclub where Laetitia spent the evening before being found in her car by Kelly and Lionel. Teyssier presents him with a photo of Laetitia. The bouncer then makes surprising revelations to him. According to him, Laetitia was not in her normal state when she arrived. He even told the person who accompanied him to take her home! Teyssier then asks the bouncer to give him a description of this person.
At the Palais des Congrès, there is one minute left before the end of the event. Kelly feels they didn’t go into enough detail with their creation. Salomé encourages her niece to follow her instincts. Kelly emphasizes that a lighthouse without light is not a lighthouse. They correct the situation using gold leaf.
While the jury deliberates, Jim tries to reassure Jasmine and promises her that whatever happens, she will stay at the Institute.
Then comes the dreaded moment of announcing the results. Teyssier enters the room just as Benoît indicates that a team has broken away. Teyssier seems impressed by Kelly’s creation. Chief Delobel then indicates that the victory was decided by an enlightened detail. It is therefore the team of chef Rigaut which wins the Coupe de France de Cuisine. Kelly, Salomé, Maya, Laetitia and Lionel let their joy burst forth. Julien Hennote then gives the trophy to Kelly and congratulates her. The young woman then declares to the assembly that she is very proud of the progress made since the preselections. She then thanks her brigade, Chief Teyssier, and tells Jasmine that it was a true honor to face her and her brigade. Finally, she concludes her speech by declaring to Laetitia and Lionel that she loves them. Teyssier, for his part, makes his mea-culpa with Benoît Delobel. He recognizes that he should not have spoken to her like that in front of Chef Rosset and the students. He didn’t take it very well when he accused her of cheating and he overreacted. Then he apologizes.
A reception is organized at the castle to celebrate Kelly’s victory, and Jasmine warmly congratulates her friend. Kelly promises her that they won’t let Annabelle Cardone kick her out of the Institute. Then, Teyssier makes a vibrant speech in which he proclaims to the two brigades that the Coupe de France has made them adversaries, but that in reality, they only form one and the same team, that of the Institut Auguste Armand. He then expresses his pride in having accompanied them throughout this competition. After his beautiful words, Emmanuel approaches Zacharias and gives him a cup, then he says to him: “Let us toast to double-dealing, to lies and to betrayal.” Then, he explains to Zacharie that he was on the verge of slipping through the cracks but that he made a small mistake by having him excluded during the competition because it gave him time to snoop a little. Teyssier then accuses Landiras of having attacked Kelly’s brigade. Uncomfortable, Zacharie denies it, but Emmanuel has proof… However, he believes that now is not the time to talk about it and will decide tomorrow what fate he has in store for him.
