CANAL+: the Eurosport distribution contract ends on November 14, the channels will cease to be available

In the subscriber area, CANAL+ announced the end of the distribution contract linking it to Eurosport next month. This means the end of the channels from this date.

This is not the first time that CANAL+ has announced the end of channels in its offers but this one is certainly the most emblematic.

Towards a change in distribution mode?

The group with the encrypted channel has announced that the distribution contract linking it to Eurosport will end on November 14. This means that the channels and services will cease to be available in CANAL+ offers on this date.

However, there is no word on whether or not there are ongoing negotiations between the two groups for the channels to be taken over again in the future. This may also be a change in strategy on the part of Warner Bros Discovery which owns this channel.

Other channels of the American group have disappeared in the past such as Warner TV and the content has only been available since the arrival of Max in . The American group could therefore want to push for the adoption of its platform by reserving Eurosport for it.

Note that some CANAL+ offers include Max but it is also possible to take it as an option if this is not the case. For the moment the Sport option is not available via CANAL+ but perhaps this will change from next month.
