the CNews star denounces “intolerance, stupidity”

After the broadcast of a new, unpublished issue of “Quelle époque!” on 2 Saturday October 5, Pascal Praud was quick to react to a dig from Béatrice Dalle. Supported by Jean-Pierre Foucault, the journalist responded indirectly to the actress, thus fueling a new controversy on social networks.

The last issue of the show What an era!broadcast this Saturday, October 5 on France 2, made waves, in particular thanks to the presence of two emblematic figures: Jean-Pierre Foucault and Béatrice Dalle. On the Léa Salamé set, the host expressed his admiration for Pascal Praud, triggering a harsh reaction from JoeyStarr’s ex-partner, visibly unenthusiastic towards the CNews journalist. In return, the journalist did not fail to respond to him, but in a roundabout way, on his social networks.

Jean-Pierre Foucault and Béatrice Dalle in total disagreement on the set of What an era!

Jean-Pierre Foucault, icon of the small screen, had the opportunity to give his opinion on the current presenters of the French audiovisual landscape (PAF) during the show What an era!hosted by Léa Salamé. After mentioning Arthur and Camille Combal, it was the photo of Pascal Praud that appeared on the screen. Without hesitation, the host of the Miss France competition expressed his admiration. I love Pascal Praud. I like his outspokenness and his general knowledge. He is criticized for being right-wing or far-right, but I enjoy listening to him and watching him.”he declared.

These comments did not please Béatrice Dalle, who immediately replied: “He’s saying he’s right-wing or far-right, if there’s one thing to change, it’s mostly that, right?” This release marked the beginning ofa verbal joust between the committed actress and Jean-Pierre Foucault, which ended with a spicy remark from the TF1 host: “Maybe not you.”

Pascal Praud’s message in response to Béatrice Dalle

The next morning, Pascal Praud reacted on X (formerly Twitter). Warmly thanking Jean-Pierre Foucault for his praise. The latter did not fail to seize the opportunity to address a veiled tackle to Béatrice Dalle. “Thank you, dear Jean-Pierre Foucault. We certainly cannot please everyone. But pleasing the one I esteem, one of the best among us, erases the attacks of those who, intolerance, stupidity or resentment animate”he wrote.

This message clearly referred to the words of Béatrice Dalle, without however naming her. The online community has immediately took a stand, some internet users supporting the journalist, while others sided with the actress.

Béatrice Dalle and her relationship to politics

Béatrice Dalle has never hidden her political opinions, and in particular his categorical rejection of the far right. In an interview with the magazineAntidote in 2023the 59-year-old actress does not hesitate to strongly criticize this ideology, describing it as dangerous and retrograde.

According to her, historical figures like Joan of Arc, often used by the far right, deserve to be reinterpreted. The French actress goes so far as to say that Joan of Arc could be perceived as “the first transgender in history“, a bold and provocative vision that reflects his commitment to freedom and inclusiveness. We must fight for the freedom of allunderlined Béatrice Dalle.
