Sad end of adventure for Jean. Brilliant in the individual immunity tests, the carpenter had so far managed to protect himself during the councils. He had all the cards in hand to win. But, unfortunately, fate decided otherwise.

Hungry, the adventurer spent his time in the forest looking for something to eat. But while trying to drop coconuts, he hit himself with a machete and subsequently suffered a sprain. An injury which forces Jean to abandon the adventure.

Very sad and disappointed at the time, Jean admits that “water flowed under the bridges” since his departure from Koh Lanta. “I blamed myself a lot. For a long time, I thought that I was going to make it even with a sprain, that I was going to get past the pain. But, that wasn’t possible.

We see you at thirty-sixth below because of the lack of food.

”Hunger was a factor at this stage of the adventure. That’s all I was thinking about. I had to find something to eat, it was my obsession. When we are hungry, we no longer have any ideas. We do stupid things because we are less lucid. I hurt myself with the machete and then I fell because of the stones.

Even hearing your teammates discussing good food was unbearable for you.

They managed to feed themselves with words. Me, on the contrary, it drove me crazy. What I heard made my heart ache. This is why I distanced myself from these discussions. I preferred to use this time to go get something to eat.

What was your strategy when arriving on Koh Lanta ?

Initially, I wanted to do well by making connections. But, after reunification, it was every man for himself. I wanted to chat with the ex-Yellows but I got a big slap in the face when I saw the ex-Reds being eliminated one by one. So I withdrew into myself and avoided dialogue.

What do you think of Meïssa’s strategy?

His strategy allowed him to get away with several tips. But, hats off to him if he can still look in the mirror. I couldn’t have done what he did.

Did you come back changed from this adventure?

Totally. This experience allowed me to do a lot of introspection work. Before, I was eternally dissatisfied. From Koh LantaI am satisfied with simple things and I appreciate them more.

If we offered it to you, would you participate again in Koh Lanta ?

If the opportunity arises, I will surely move on because the physical and psychological impact that Koh Lanta can have on us is difficult to manage.
