Former private detective of Hélène Pastor, Patrick Boffa recounts in a book his 24 years of collaboration with the Monegasque billionaire murdered in 2014

A decade already. On May 6, 2014, upon leaving L’Archet hospital in Nice, Hélène Pastor and her driver were victims of a shooting. The Monegasque businesswoman died of her injuries on May 21. Starting point of a sordid affair which would lead four years later to the sentence of life imprisonment for Wojciech Janowski – son-in-law of the victim – found guilty of having ordered the two assassinations.

“A tribute”

In his work The billionaire’s private detective which he has just published by Scripta editions, Patrick Boffa tells his vision on this affair. A 269-page story where the private detective looks back on the links he shared with Hélène Pastor, who charged him with various investigations for 24 years.

The book paints the portrait of a woman gripped by doubts, fearing the actions of her son-in-law. And also tells the personality of a discreet figure of the Principality. “This book is a tribute to Madame Pastor, which I wrote in memory of this great lady. She would never have succeeded in her business without being an iron lady but many things have been said about her, describing her like a horrible woman, this is not the truth. Her real identity is the one I describe in my book, that of a woman with whom I collaborated for twenty-four years.

Patrick Boffa dug into his memories to retrace the genesis of their exchanges and the investigations carried out in the 1990s. “I did not need to go back into my files, I have this whole story in my memory, it is printed for life and Madame Pastor, from the beginning unfortunately, had a presentiment of how it was all going to end”assures the private detective, who was called to testify before the Aix-en-Provence Assize Court in 2018 during the trial of Wojciech Janowski.

At that time, he had clearly explained that the victim had long suspected his son-in-law of not being who he claimed. A story that he retraces from the inside in this work where he wanted to write his “strict truth”.
