This Monday evening, the 8th episode of Top chefplaced under the sign of nature, with five candidates in the orange brigade and three in the gray brigade.
For the first test, Claire Smith, elected best chef in the world and three-starred, entered and asked Bryan, Jorick, Valentin and Marie to make the most beautiful flower. The evaluation took place in two stages. First, the chef visually selected the most beautiful flower, thus qualifying Marie for next week. Then, when tasting the other three plates, Jorick’s did not convince the chef.
The mushroom at the heart of the plate
For the second event, another renowned chef, Simone Zanoni, joined the team. Very involved in eco-responsibility, he chose as a theme the sublimation of the oyster mushroom, a mushroom, in the center of the dish. Quentin, Pavel, Arnaud and Clotaire had 1 hour 45 minutes to prepare their dish, using food leftovers from the candidates from the previous test.
Arnaud, the Belgian candidate, dared to offer a dessert with oyster mushrooms in the shape of yellow and white snow, which he named “Pipi au pleurote”, in reference to “pee in the snow”. “I find the idea funny, of making a star chef eat pee”, he explained to his brigade leaders, Stéphanie Le Quellec, Dominique Crenn and Hélène Darroze. Despite their concerns about this proposal, the candidate continued his momentum.
Unfortunately for the Belgian candidate, the destabilized chef Zanoni did not understand the link between the dish and its name. Last at the tasting, Arnaud found himself in a last chance test against Jorick.
The two candidates had 45 minutes to make a fruit salad. Unfortunately, Arnaud did not succeed in convincing his brigade leaders who were tasting blind.
After 8 weeks, the Belgian candidate leaves the adventure Top chef.

A wind of change is blowing through the kitchens of Top chef ! Next week, a major transformation awaits the seven candidates still in competition.
Goodbye to the orange and gray brigades, make way for a new dynamic as the chefs form duos until the grand final. Indeed, during the next episode, each chef will take a candidate under their wing, thus forming six competitive duos. The seventh candidate will be eliminated from the competition.
