The great return of HPI approach. Next Thursday, May 16, TF1 will launch the fourth season of its hit series. The last episode ended with a huge cliffhanger with the announcement of Morgane Alvaro’s pregnancy. For the moment, the identity of the child’s father remains unknown. If HPI is carried by a masterful Audrey Fleurot, the series also owes its popularity to its other characters, including Adam Karadac, played by Mehdi Nebbou. The actor said more with 7 Days TV on the state of his character at the start of this new season: “Karadec feels an absolute sense of betrayal. He still hasn’t forgiven himself for being responsible for the accident that left his brother in a wheelchair. It is the most sensitive and tragic event of his life. He confided in Morgane about this, and she took the opportunity to extract the password for his computer, which is the name of his family home: La Pointue. In Karadec’s mind, it’s a point of no return. But I won’t hide from you that it will evolve…

Since 2021, Mehdi Nebbou has shared the stage with Audrey Fleurot. Over the years, the relationship between the two actors has changed a lot, as the Bayonne native explains: “At the beginning, we looked for each other, we observed each other. We didn’t work exactly the same way. We had to adapt to become a real support for each other. Now, we know each other so much, it’s almost mind-blowing. As soon as we hear “action”, a kind of magic operates and escapes us, moreover. We feel the other, how and when they will react… And even if everyone, in their character, does their best, there is an alchemy that is born. And we can’t control this one, in fact. That too is a luck factor. As the years went by, it became something very reassuring. With each “action”, we go with one certainty: that, whatever we do, it will be funny or touching, even in spite of ourselves. Honestly, I think our duo is dynamite!

Mehdi Nebbou discusses the end of HPI

With this fourth season, HPI is inexorably approaching the end, since the season that follows should be the last: “When it happens, I will perhaps be more affected, because it will be the end of something that has meant a lot in my life“, admits Mehdi Nebbou, who, like Audrey Fleurot, intends to finish HPI in the most beautiful way. “But now, while we still have this fifth season to shoot, I tell myself that we shouldn’t do one season too many.

It’s a phrase that comes up a lot between us“, continues the 53-year-old actor. “God knows that authors make efforts to renew themselves, take on new challenges and try to take the plot to places where we don’t expect it. But at some point, the longer the set is, the more you fall into the trap of reheating, repeating, and resting on your laurels. It would be a shame if, with such an original and unique concept, HPI lost its grain of madness to become a system that repeats itself. It would have to end in a rather crazy, offbeat way, without taking itself too seriously either. Especially not. And with panache!

Mehdi Nebbou’s interview can be read in full in the magazine Télé 7 Jours, available on newsstands from this Monday, May 6.
