“I would not have imagined participating in this type of program,” admits to Bordeaux news Raphaël, one of the candidates for season 8 of Married at First Sight, broadcast on M6 every Monday evening (9:10 p.m.) since March 18, 2024.

As a reminder, thereality TV-show offers single people looking for love the opportunity to marry a complete stranger with whom they share a high compatibility rate, identified through the work of experts.

He was approached by the production

However, the 31-year-old from Bordeaux agreed to participate in the experiment. “It was the production that contacted me on social networks. It was at a time in my life when it was a bit of nothingness on an emotional level. At first glance, I wasn’t particularly interested but since I’m curious, I still wanted to have explanations on how the show works, which I didn’t really know. I had a few a priori. »

In the end, Raphaël allowed himself to be convinced and in episode 7, he met Ludivine, a 33-year-old from Rochellewith whom he shares 77% compatibility and who he married. Are they still together? Failed, we won’t know. Candidates must keep it secret until the end of the season.

The Bordeaux resident will be content to say that he lived “an extraordinary experience”. And if he had fears before signing up for the show that it would be “very scripted”, this founder of a start-up in the sports sector came out rather satisfied: “From the moment we is filmed, everything is true. Well, during interview times, obviously they keep what they need and things stand out more than others,” he says.

Part of his portrait “which does not represent him”

Raphaël refers to his portrait where the production presented him as someone who is “stuck on appearance” and who “cannot get past the slightest physical detail”.

” In reality, I am not more focused on the physical than anyone else, it was very accentuated in the portrait,” he defends himself, after seeing criticism from Internet users on social networks presenting him as a superficial person.

“It doesn’t represent me. I’m more of a simple, natural person who likes to laugh. Luckily, a lot of people saw it too and that’s cool! », he adds.

On his future with Ludivine, the young man therefore maintains the suspense. To echo the bride’s doubts (about age or height), Raphaël assures for his part that he did not hesitate for a second during the wedding:

I really would have said “no” if I had felt that the person in front of me was closed off, that there was zero chemistry or that I didn’t like them physically.

“I was just waiting for something to happen at first sight, a complicity, something warm, and I got it! When we met, she came to me, she cried with emotion, she was bubbly… I only saw positive things. »
