The requests filed before the Council of State by Le Média, NRJ 12 and C8 did not only concern places on the French zaplist.
Did you say sore losers? The judge in summary proceedings issued three orders rejecting the three requests from disappointed TNT candidates who had appealed to the Council of State to have Arcom’s decision annulled. The heart of the appeals was above all to reconsider the choice of the audiovisual regulator not to select them for the 15 frequencies brought into play in February, but that was not all.
In addition to contesting the allocation of frequencies, NRJ 12, C8 and Le Média also demanded financial sanctions against Arcom. According to Press CorrespondenceC8 demanded the payment of €10,000, while NRJ 12 demanded €6,000. For its part, Le Média requested a penalty of €100 per day of delay as well as a penalty of €7,500 from the State. Although the amounts in question remain modest compared to the budgets of television channels, these requests may seem surprising. This is like imagining a football player not selected for a match not only demanding his place, but also demanding financial compensation from his coach for his frustration.
