Sparta Prague-Inter: the day live

The day has come: Inter are back on the field in the Champions League 43 days after the match lost against Bayer Leverkusen. The Nerazzurri face Sparta Prague at the Stadion Letna: the match, valid for the 7th matchday of the League Phase, is scheduled for 9.00pm. Prague is also Inter’s last away match in this first phase of the new Champions League: the Nerazzurri will conclude their journey in the championship phase Wednesday 29 January at San Siro against Monaco (HERE THE TICKETS).

The seventh round opened on Tuesday with the first nine matches scheduled: the results confirmed Liverpool in first place with maximum points, while Barcelona qualified for the round of 16 with the comeback victory against Benfica.



Inter are currently in seventh place with 13 points, on par with Arsenal, Bayer Leverkusen, Aston Villa, , Monaco and .

On the eve of the match, the Nerazzurri carried out their usual pre-match activities: Simone Inzaghi and Marcus Thuram presented the match in a press conference directly from Stadion Letna. The press activity closed a day that had opened in the morning with a training session at the BPER Training Center in Appiano Gentile.

THE OPPONENT: SPARTA PRAGUE

Sparta Prague, led since the beginning of the season by Danish Lars Friis, currently occupies the 29th position in the Champions League standings with 4 points in six matches. The Czechs have won just one of their last 20 UEFA Champions League matches, losing their last four in a row. They have also conceded 18 goals in this season’s competition, their highest tally in a season since 1999/00. Friis’ team is in third place in the championship with 37 points thanks to 11 wins and 4 draws after 19 matches, with 35 goals scored and 22 conceded. The Czechs’ top scorer of the season is the Nigerian Victor Olatunji, author of 10 goals considering all competitions.

However, Sparta has not taken the field in an official match since December 15th (2-1 victory against Jablonec in the championship): the Czech top flight will only restart on February 2nd after the winter break. In 2025, Sparta played only two friendlies during the training camp which took place in Marbella, Spain: Friis’ team won 3-1 against the Swedish team Malmo and 3-0 against the Norwegian team Bodo/Glimt.
