Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim has finally responded to reports he broke a TV in the dressing room following his side’s 3-1 defeat to Brighton & Hove Albion last weekend.
The incident reportedly happened as the manager expressed his frustration over the team’s poor performance.
Although he did not explicitly confirm these claims, the Portuguese coach admitted to letting his emotions take over in moments of frustration.
Coach Ruben Amorim reflects on his emotions
Speaking to reporters ahead of the Europa League match against Rangers, he responded to the question regarding the incident by reminding everyone where he is emotionally.
“I am a young man and I make mistakes sometimes. That’s why I don’t talk about it after the match” said Amorim during the press conference.
“This match, I needed to speak, and maybe it was a mistake. I then become even more nervous and go to the press conference with a lot of nervousness.
-Then I say things I shouldn’t say, and that’s it. Sometimes when you’re young you make mistakes and you improve”, he added.
The 39-year-old, who is under increasing scrutiny due to United’s inconsistent form, insisted he is committed to learning from his actions while acknowledging his human flaws.
“I don’t promise I won’t do it again, but I will try to improve”, added Ruben Amorim.
Heading into a crucial Europa League match against Rangers, Amorim’s ability to channel his passion to achieve positive results will be in the spotlight.
