The driver responsible for the death of Antoine Alléno, son of the famous French chef, in on May 8, 2022, was sentenced to seven years in prison this Thursday, November 28. The prosecution had requested eight years in prison for involuntary manslaughter with at least two aggravating circumstances, involuntary injuries and violent robbery.

The verdict is in, and it almost meets the sentence demanded by the public prosecutor. The driver who cost the life of Antoine Alléno on the evening of May 8, 2022 was sentenced this Thursday, November 28 to seven years in prison for involuntary manslaughter with at least two aggravating circumstances, involuntary injuries and violent robbery. He appeared free at the end of last October during his trial, where he was under judicial supervision.

As a reminder, he was at the wheel of a racing car that he had just stolen and had fatally mowed down the son of the famous French chef while he was on a scooter after a day of work. Franky D., 27, was also under the influence of alcohol.

“I have done the irreparable”

Already having an extensive criminal record, he faced up to ten years in prison and a fine of 150,000 euros for these acts. The prosecution had requested eight years in prison with a warrant of committal and a ban on taking a driving license for ten years.

The accused admitted during his hearing all the facts except the violence committed at the time of the theft of the car. He added that he had “committed the irreparable” in front of the judges.

He was on trial at the same time as two other men, René A., 47 years old, and Sniper G., 20 years old, prosecuted for gang theft. They were released this Thursday, even though the public prosecutor had requested six and nine months of suspended prison sentence respectively.
