A first in its history: Celtic takes drastic measure to regulate Club Brugge supporters – All football

Celtic Park is preparing to welcome 3,000 Club Brugge supporters this Wednesday evening. The Scottish club has taken precautions to avoid any overflow.

From a security point of view, it is a fairly high risk meeting which will take place this Wednesday evening in Glasgow, between Celtic and Club Brugge.

For this trip to Scotland, 3,000 Blauw & Zwart supporters made the trip. A number comparable to that given during the Bruges travel to Milan in October.

And for the very first time in its history, Celtic took a significant step to avoid any excess. Safety nets will surround the Bruges supporters’ parking lot.

Safety nets to surround the Club Brugge park at Celtic

The Scottish press tells us that these nets were initially purchased by the club in preparation for the Glasgow derby against Rangers. However, no supporter of Philippe Clément’s team was able to go to Celtic Park.

Saved for other high-risk matches, the safety nets will therefore be used for the very first time, this Wednesday evening at Celtic. A measure probably taken because this season, Belgian supporters did not have the gift of illustrating themselves in the best way when their club played on the European scene.
