Like Migros, Coop stores have announced lowering their prices

According to our colleagues at 24 Heures Suisse, nearly 1,000 products will see their prices drop in 2025 at Coop. The goal? Counter discounters like Lidl and Aldi, which attract ever more customers.

Thus, Coop announced that it would modernize its 965 supermarkets in Switzerland and strengthen its offering. The spokesperson for the brand declared that “ the 1000th should open its doors in 2026. »

New entry-level products

Coop wants to diversify its range of entry-level products, just like Migros. These new price reductions should be permanent. “ This year alone, around sixty Prix Garantie products were added » added the spokesperson.

The benefits that the population will be able to derive from it are not yet very clear. “We will have to judge on the spot and see on which products the prices will actually be revised downwards. It’s not the same thing if it concerns everyday or occasional purchases,” says the head of the FRC.
