Good news, the fireworks of this July 14, 2023 in Toulon will take place this Friday evening! no mistral, no drought or fire alert that could have forced the city to cancel, all the indicators are green.
Public transport will run normally in Toulon this evening. Unlike Marseille or Nice where they must stop at 10 p.m., no limitation for Toulon and its agglomeration.
The military parade on the Avenue de la République in the late afternoon
For Toulon, the great military city in the south of France, this military parade is more than a symbol! Its organization dates back to 1881, and inevitably, it honors the various units based in Toulon and its surroundings. It also has the particularity of parading the military musical formations of Toulon, and in particular the Music of the Crews of the Fleet, a real and beautiful brass band!
This year, the parade will begin at 6:00 p.m. and will be followed from 6:30 p.m. by the military parade on Avenue de la Républiquepassing in front of the stands set up in front of Place Louis-Blanc and Square Germain-Nouveau.
A firework designed as an explosion of colors
This year, the theme chosen by the City of Toulon for its fireworks is a “Color kaleidoscope of a pyrotechnic show, conceived as a real explosion of colors”
It will be fired at 10 p.m. from the Darse Vieille in the port.
The fireworks are scheduled to last between 16 and 18 minutes, the time to send more than 9,000 projectiles into the Toulon sky. The tallest rockets are expected to reach 250m high. The finale will be composed of three grandiose bouquets that will offer “a real visual experience“the city promises us.
The evening continues in town Place de l’Equerre with the traditional ball and a musical atmosphere.
What are the best places to see the Toulon fireworks?
Several options: to be closer, to have a panoramic view of the city or to gain height
As close as possible, in the fan zone of the port
From 3:30 p.m., the port fan zone will open its doors to the public. It can accommodate thousands of people in a secure 11,000m² space. A search may be carried out at the entrance, and as usual, many objects that could constitute a threat to the population are prohibited there.
The advantage of this spot is to be as close as possible to the shooting point, barely a few hundred meters away. On the other hand, the concentration of people will be particularly dense on the quays of the port.
Finally, this proximity will also make it possible to enjoy the entertainment certainly offered by the bars in the town centre.
Note that the night craft market which takes place on the Carré du Port every Tuesday and Friday evening will be canceled this Friday, July 14.
Take to the skies on Mont Faron
The Mont Faron cable car operates exceptionally at night this Friday, July 14, 2023. Mont Faron has many advantages: on the one hand, with these hot days, it is a place that offers a bit of freshness. It has a panoramic view of the entire bay and therefore in particular of the fireworks which will be fired from the port.
Finally, Mont Faron is very big! And therefore no risk of losing your children in the crowd or of finding yourself squeezed in like sardines.
And good news, the cable car runs until midnight, or even a little later to be sure not to abandon anyone at the top of Faron. On the other hand, it is advisable to climb there relatively early, ideally to take the opportunity to have a picnic at the top.
Please note that access to Mont Faron by car will only be possible before 7 p.m. (time of the exceptional road closure). Beyond this time, the cable car will be the only way to access it.
Take the opportunity to go out in the harbor
Several boatmen from Toulon offer an exceptional outing in the harbor for the fireworks display. Boarding will be done around 9 p.m., allowing you to discover the harbor of Toulon at night and then enjoy the fireworks in the front row from 10 p.m.

The Mayol and Lafayette car parks on the rue Dutasta side will be closed. The exit from the Mayol car park towards Roosevelt will be kept open and the exit from the Lafayette car park will be exceptionally against the direction.
For boats, the start of the navigation ban in the Toulon Darse Vieille port begins at 6 p.m., including for the Marine Nautical Club. The refueling station will be closed at 6 p.m. Maritime shuttles will exceptionally be able to access it until 9.30 p.m.
