A cheese loved by everyone is the subject of a product recall
Several batches of Morbier 45 days sold under the Jean Perrin brand have been the subject of a product recall. This cheese made from raw milk, widely consumed in France, presents a suspicion of contamination by toxigenic Escherichia coli shiga (STEC).
This is a pathogen that can cause serious complications. And this, particularly among vulnerable populations. This preventive recall affects various packaging of Morbier, in particular trays for raclette meals, boards and assortments combining different types of cheese (Morbier, Comté, Edel).
All batches, whose expiration dates extend between January 8, 2025 and March 26, 2025, remain affected by this famous procedure. Reminder Conso has also recalled that these products should be stored in the refrigerator.

They also have the FR 25 155 001 CE health mark. Please note, however, that the brand’s Organic and Grand Refining ranges are not affected by this product recall. The latter came into existence because of the potential presence of STEC.
The government website also specified: “Toxigenic Shiga Escherichia coli (STEC) can cause the week following consumption of contaminated productssometimes bloody diarrhea, abdominal pain and vomiting, accompanied or not by fever”.
A health hazard
Before also adding to this product recall: “These symptoms can be followed (5 to 8% of cases) by severe renal complications, mainly in children. People who have consumed the products mentioned above and who present this type of symptoms must consult their treating physician without delay« .
-And this, “by notifying him of this consumption as well as the place and date of purchase. If there are no symptoms within 15 days after consuming the products concerned, there is no need to worry and consult a doctor..

This Morbier was released in all the brand’s supermarkets and stores in France, between November 12, 2024 and January 24, 2025. The authorities also recall the importance of certain practices for limit the risks linked to food contamination.
