Manchester United’s new winger strengthens Manuel Pellegrini’s attack after a frustrating spell at the English club with limited playing time, as he aims to return to his best form at Sevilla.
Real Betis Balompié officially announced the agreement reached with Manchester United for the loan of Antony for the current season. The Brazilian winger of the Red Devils arrives at Benito Villamarín with the objective of regaining his high level performances, those which initially allowed him to join the English team and find a place in the Brazilian national team.
Antony Matheus dos Santos (São Paulo, Brazil, 02/24/2000) began his professional career in São Paulo, making his debut with the first team in 2018. After spending two and a half years with the Brazilian club, he made the jump to European football with Ajax in February 2020. The Brazilian made an impression during his time in the Netherlands, scoring 24 goals in 82 appearances, and lifting two league titles as well as a Dutch Cup.

His remarkable performances led to a move to Manchester United in the summer of 2022, where he won the League Cup and FA Cup. The new Betis player was also selected for the Brazilian senior national team, taking part in the 2022 World Cup and winning Olympic gold in 2021.
