Jenin, January 23, 2025, WAFA- Five citizens were injured on Thursday evening, as Israeli occupying forces continued their aggression on the city of Jenin and its camp for the third consecutive day.
The Palestinian Red Crescent Society said its teams transferred three wounded from the Jalameh military checkpoint following beatings inflicted by occupying forces, and treated two wounded by shrapnel from live ammunition in one of the shelters for displaced people in the Jenin camp, they were transferred to the hospital.
The occupying forces arrested a number of citizens in the Al-Kharouba neighborhood, after searching the house of the Al-Qat family, and subjected them to interrogation on the ground.
In the Jenin camp, local sources reported that occupying forces burned down houses belonging to the Masharqa family and prevented civil defense teams from reaching the site to put out the fire.
The sources added that the family was displaced from their homes yesterday, while an elderly person living on the ground floor of the house and was unable to leave due to his health condition and inability to walking long distances, the Masharqa family appealed the need to evacuate immediately.
The occupying forces also forced the family of citizen Ahmed Abu Al-Haija to evacuate their house on Mahyoub Street in the camp and transformed it into military barracks.
-The occupation imposed a curfew on citizens inside the camp after forcing hundreds of families to leave their homes at gunpoint and by force, and opened a single passage through which citizens were forced to pass through cameras to check their eye and face prints. until they reach the roundabout west of the camp.
They imposed a tight siege by closing its entrances, amid threats to demolish and bulldoze a number of houses.
Occupation forces cut off electricity to Jenin camp and much of its surrounding area, leading to a power outage at Jenin Government Hospital and Ibn Sina Hospital. They also prevented teams from the electricity company from working on repairing the network.
The occupation’s aggression against the city of Jenin, its camp and the town of Burqin, west of the city, resulted in the death of 12 citizens and the injury of dozens of others, and caused destruction massive attacks on infrastructure.
