We had to wait five months. Two people were indicted for “assassination”, after the discovery last September of a charred body in a car in the north of Deux-Sèvres, we learned Thursday from the public prosecutor’s office.

The two suspects were indicted on Thursday for “assassination, destruction by dangerous means and attacks on the integrity of a corpse,” said the public prosecutor in Poitiers, Cyril Lacombe, who requested their placement in pre-trial detention. .

These two men, from the Traveler community according to the Courrier de l’Ouest, are suspected of the murder of a 40-year-old man, whose body was found at the beginning of September in the trunk of his charred and abandoned car in a village located 40 km from his home. Léo Guillemain, who should have celebrated his 41st birthday at the end of December, was nicknamed “Little Léo”, specifies the Courrier de l’Ouest. His funeral took place on January 11.

According to a source close to the case, the house of this father, located in the town of Retail, in the north of Deux-Sèvres, had been set on fire two days previously and local residents had claimed to have heard suspicious noises nearby.

The possibility of a settling of scores against a background of drug trafficking is ruled out by the investigators, who favor a murder for “a frivolous motive” against a “background of alcohol”, according to the same source. An autopsy on the victim’s body was unable to determine the cause of his death.
