Thursday January 23, 2025, shortly after 4:30 p.m., a woman driving a Renault Twingo alerted the firefighters after noticing smoke coming from the car’s engine, while she was at height from avenue de Paris, in Niort, at the level of the hopper and the exit towards boulevard de l’Europe.

Ultimately, a fire broke out while the motorist was getting out of his car; the latter was not injured. The fire was quickly extinguished by firefighters. During the intervention, traffic was severely disrupted on this busy road at this time of the day.

Traffic returned to normal once road services removed the vehicle. A police team was present in particular to ensure the security of the premises.
