Trial of Amandine’s death in Montpellier: the young girl’s mother admitted the facts
Accused of having tortured her daughter Amandine, who died of starvation at the age of 13 in 2020, her mother admitted the facts for the first time in four years, during the trial held in Montpellier (Hérault).
-Beatings, deprivation of food, humiliation… For the first time, on the second day of her trial in Montpellier (Hérault), Sandrine Pissara admitted the abuse she inflicted on her daughter Amandine. The 13-year-old girl died on August 16, 2020 of a cardiac arrest, when she weighed only 28 kilos. “We have made progress, we must continue (…) and once we have understood, we will certainly have to find the right sanction”declared the accused’s lawyer, Me Jean-Marc Darrigade.
The family drama played out behind closed doors in a house in Montblanc, in Hérault. Amandine had become her mother’s scapegoat, with the complicity of her mother’s new companion, who was also on trial. The girl’s father, who did not have custody of her, was unaware at the time of what was happening. He wants his ex-partner “explain” his actions, for “have the whole truth”he explains, upset. The suspect faces life imprisonment, her companion risks 30 years in prison. The verdict is expected on Friday at the latest.
