At the end of December, even as Disney+ was preparing to leave the catalog of platforms integrated into the Canal+ subscription, the encrypted channel announced to certain subscribers that their formula would see its price inflated by two euros. A month later… nothing. The reason is simple: it was an error, the company clarifies.

« I sent this increase by mistake »
Canal+ subscribers sent our colleagues at Clubic an email that they would have received from the encrypted channel. A short message, aimed at clarifying this supposed increase that was discussed a month earlier. A simple “ technical malfunction“, assures the missive, which would have led to the sending of a “ mail […] informing you of an increase in price and duration« .
« Your offer remains unchanged and your subscription will continue under the same conditions as currently, in particular price and duration.“, concludes Canal+. More fear than harm therefore, and a malfunction confirmed to the media by a spokesperson for the channel.
This email actually aims to correct the situation with “ from a very limited portion of our subscribers who had previously received an erroneous communication“. In other words: nothing to worry about. The price of subscriptions to the different Canal+ packages therefore remains unchanged.
-Is a Canal+ subscription still a good deal?
At a time when SVOD platforms are multiplying price increases, or at least the addition of advertising which taints the experience, opting for a bouquet like one of those offered by Canal+ can be interesting for large consumers video content.
The Canal+ Ciné Series offer, for example, offers access to Canal+ group channels, but also to Apple TV+ (€9.99 per month), Max (€9.99 per month) and Paramount+ (7. 99€ per month). Other advantages are added to the list, such as Ciné Duo, which allows you to benefit from a free cinema ticket in participating cinemas for a ticket purchased on Thursday evenings.
For those under 26, the Rat+ formula, in its cinema series or sports version, allows access to the same bouquet of platforms for only €19.99 per month.
It remains to be seen whether this type of subscription does not conflict with your Internet subscription. The latest Free boxes, for example, already include Canal+, Netflix and Disney+.
