Saturday in En Solomiac, Mayor Patrick Plicque took advantage of the presentation of his wishes to the population to take stock of the past year and announce the projects that will punctuate 2025.

A new school

“We have modified part of the gendarmerie crossroads and the Gragnague road to prepare for the arrival of the new emergency center in 2026,” he recalled. A temporary arrangement which has generated positive feedback, according to the councilor: “I have received numerous messages and comments from citizens asking for the perpetuation of this signage which contributes to securing this intersection”. In 2024, Verfeil’s assets were enriched with two strategic acquisitions. A former premises of the DDE (Departmental Equipment Directorate), rue Fount Novo, will be transformed into an association building. Patrick Plicque adds: “We have also strengthened our land potential with the purchase of 3.4 ha of land in the Courbenause plain, located near the future school group.” The mayor then revealed the result of the vote establishing the name of this school, which is scheduled to open in 2026: “It will be the Figuier school group. This name obtained 176 votes out of 360 votes,” he revealed. -he. Symbol of Verfeil, this tree will proudly adorn the square of the future establishment.

2025 will also be marked by the launch of structuring projects: the creation of a senior residence, the establishment of a commercial area at the entrance to the Girou activity zone and the construction of a clubhouse for the rugby club. Furthermore, the town hall will begin in the first half of 2025 a study relating to the future of a building sector located under the municipal cemetery, which will also be subject to public consultation. Patrick Plicque specifies: “The municipality wishes to control the development of this area at the entrance to the village, in order to guarantee continuity with the town center”.

At the end of the ceremony, Céline Romero, deputy mayor, revealed the three winners of the competition for “the most beautiful Christmas window 2024”, resulting from an online vote, the votes of elected officials and appreciation. by a jury: 1st prize was awarded to the Origami hair salon, followed by Cybele Coiffure (2nd prize) and the florist Lys d’Or (3rd prize).
