César Chino Huerta, the talented Mexican midfielder, will not take part in the upcoming Europa League clash against Viktoria Plzeň. Currently at Royal Sporting Club Anderlecht, Huerta is biding his time to make his debut after joining the club during the winter transfer window when the tournament was already underway. Due to UEFA regulations, new players can only be registered after the end of the group stage. Thus, Huerta will not be able to play before the start of the round of 16 in March 2024.
Anderlecht are set to face Viktoria Plzeň in their seventh meeting of the Europa League campaign. Unfortunately for Huerta, he is not on the list of players and will have to observe the match from the stands, ineligible even for the bench. The club currently sits third in their group standings with 14 points, putting them in a favorable position to qualify directly for the knockout stages.
