Smoke was being released late Wednesday morning at the Ikea store in Aubonne, on the Côte Vaudoise. For security reasons, the building had to be evacuated. The firefighters are still at work.
“There was no fire and there is therefore no damage at this stage,” indicated the Aubonne trustee, Yves Charrière, returning to several media reports. “This is a problem in a technical room, in this case a pressure boiler,” he specifies.
“The evacuation was ordered as a safety measure. The device is certainly quite impressive, but there are therefore no flames,” notes the trustee. The Vaud police were notified around 11 a.m. of this incident.
