A single goal was enough for the Ottawa Charge to get the better of the Minnesota Frost by a score of 1-0 and to end a series of three losses in a row.
This goal was the work of Brianne Jenner after only 3:19 of play in the first period. At the start of the match, good pressure from the Charge in opposing territory allowed Gabbie Hughes to recover the puck. Hughes quickly fed Jenner in the slot, allowing him to open the scoring with his first goal of the season.
Charge goalkeeper Gwyneth Philips and Frost goalkeeper Maddie Rooney were perfect for the next 56 minutes, but ultimately it was Philips who had the best with her 22 saves.
-This victory for the Charge also prevents the Frost from joining the Victoire de Montréal at the top of the LPHF with 23 points. Victory now has two games in hand over Minnesota.
The Frost will return to action on Sunday against the Boston Fleet, while the Charge will face the New York Sirens on Monday.
