The Projet Stargate is a new initiative that aims to invest $500 billion over the next four years in infrastructureIA pour OpenAI in the United States. The project will begin with an immediate deployment of $100 billion.
The main goal is to strengthen the United States’ position in the field of artificial intelligence, create several hundred thousand jobs and generate economic benefits on a global scale. This project is also designed to support the re-industrialization of the United States and ensure a strategic capability to protect the national security of the country as well as that of its allies.
Early investors in Project Stargate include SoftBank, OpenAI, Oracle et MGX. SoftBank and OpenAI are the lead partners, with SoftBank responsible for financial aspects and OpenAI for operations. Masayoshi Son was appointed president.
Key technology partners participating in this project include Arm, Microsoft, NVIDIA, Oracle et OpenAI. Construction has begun in Texas, with evaluations of potential sites across the country for other campuses underway as agreements are finalized.
-As part of Project Stargate, Oracle, NVIDIA and OpenAI will work closely to build and operate this computing system. This initiative builds on an existing collaboration between OpenAI and NVIDIA dating back to 2016, as well as a more recent partnership with Oracle. OpenAI will also continue to increase its use of Microsoft Azure as it works with Microsoft to train advanced models and deliver products and services.
This project aims to develop artificial intelligence, in particular artificial general intelligence (AGI), for the collective benefit.
