A fire broke out in a wood processing factory in Amos

A major fire broke out on Tuesday at the Arbec wood processing plant in Amos, in Abitibi-Témiscamingue.

The blaze started around 4:30 p.m. at the building on rue de l’Harricana and required a large deployment of firefighters, confirmed the City of Amos Fire Department.

Sûreté du Québec agents were called to assist the firefighters’ intervention. The latter ensured circulation to facilitate the work of the stakeholders.

The fire was still burning around 6:30 p.m.
