A tragedy near Nantes.
FC Nantes paid tribute to Nolann Patron, former player from its academy, who lost his life this Sunday, January 19. The 16-year-old boy died in a car accident in La Chapelle-sur-Erdre, near Nantes. According to West France, Nolann was in the passenger seat when the vehicle struck another car at full speed. The driver, aged 17, was seriously injured.
The young man played at the national U17 level at USSA Vertou, which « cries one of his own ». On Instagram, his club honored the deceased: « Since yesterday we have been mourning the loss of Nolann Patron, a child of the club who was loved by everyone for his smile, his kindness and his enthusiasm, both on and off the pitch. » Rodolphe Amailland, the mayor of Vertou, announced that a tribute will be paid to him this Saturday, January 25.
