At the end of this first phase, the first eight in the ranking will be directly qualified for the round of 16. The teams ranked between 9th and 24th place will compete in a round-trip play-off to determine the other eight qualified for the round of 16. Between 25th and 36th place, clubs will be eliminated from the Champions League and will not be transferred to Ligue Europa.
