Almost four years after her last World Cup victory, New Zealander Alice Robinson won the giant slalom at Kronplatz, Italy, on Tuesday. Federica Brignone, who had closed the starting gate for the second round, missed a gate.
March 21, 2021. Since that day, Alice Robinson had not experienced the joy of a World Cup victory. The New Zealander was then 19 years old and won her third success in Lenzerheide. The interminable wait ended this Tuesday, at the giant of Kronplatz. The Sydney native, who moved to New Zealand at the age of 4, finished fifth in the first heat in the morning, and then set the fastest time in the second. Gut-Behrami returns to Brignone
Lara Gut-Behrami finished second and the American Paula Moltzan third (after finishing tenth in the first round), which allowed her to reach the fourth podium of her career, at 30 years old. On the French side, only one skier qualified for the second round, Clara Direz. And she took 28th and last place in the ranking, 4”44 behind Robinson.
