Trump fires Biden administration appointees, including Iran envoy and Gaza aid chief
US President Donald Trump has fired more than a thousand appointees dating from the Biden administration, including retired general Mark Milley, chief José Andrés and envoy to Iran Peter Hook. Milley, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff under the previous Trump administration, criticized the president-elect for his involvement in the assault on the Capitol on January 6, 2021. Andrés heads the international aid organization “World Central Kitchen” (WCK). ) which operates in Gaza and received the Presidential Medal of Freedom from former President Joe Biden.
