On January 17, Netflix broadcast the final episode of season 7 of the event show “Outlander”. Aficionados of the series are already enthusiastic about the idea of reuniting with our protagonists for an eighth season which also promises to be the last.
Since its beginning in 2014, the “Outlander” series, adapted from the novels by American author Diana Gabaldon, has established itself as one of the flagship programs in the Netflix catalog. Netflix has not yet confirmed a date for the arrival of the final season on the platform. However, fans of the show can rest assured, its return with ten new episodes looks imminent! Filming having ended in September 2024, the series is likely to return sometime in 2025. For the American media. “Variety”, Kathryn Busby, president of original programming at STARZ, spoke about the showrunners’ enthusiasm for bringing an epic finale to the program: “For nearly a decade, “Outlander” has captured the hearts of audiences around the world, and we are thrilled to bring a fitting conclusion to Claire and Jamie’s beautiful love story.”
This final season is not synonymous with a total farewell to the franchise since a prequel series is in development. In “Blood of my Blood”, spectators will discover the wanderings of Claire and Jamie’s parents in two different eras. The first images of this new program were revealed in a trailer on January 19.
