Sold for 500 times its price in a year and a half: Will Still and Racing are rubbing their hands, it’s official – The latest transfers

It’s now official: Abdukodir Khusanov is leaving Racing for Manchester City. The Citizens put 50 million on the table for the young Uzbek, arriving in the summer of 2023 for… 500 times less.

We know the identity of the employee of the month at Racing Lens: the scout who whispered in the ear of the Sang & Or sporting director the name ofAbdukodir Khusanov (20 years old). The Uzbek central defender has indeed just left Félix Bollaert, and for incredible added value.

As we explained to you earlier today (read here), Khusanov was in fact bought from Energetik Minsk for 100,000 euros in the summer of 2023. A year and a half later, it’s official: Abdukodir Khusanov has just signed up for Manchester City for 50 million euros including bonus.

The Uzbek has signed at the Etihad Stadium until 2029 and will therefore be the new teammate of Kevin De Bruyne and Jérémy Doku. A meteoric rise for Khusanov, who went from the Belarusian D1 to Ligue 1, the Champions League and now the Premier League in a year and a half.

Khusanov also beats the Racing Lens sales record, namely the transfer of Loïs Openda for 43 million euros to RB Leipzig – but the Belgian can potentially bring in 52 million if all the bonuses are activated, and therefore regain this status.

The added value of Racing Lens, to the tune of 49,900 million euros, is even crazier if we present it like this: Abdukodir Khusanov leaves the North for… 500 times the sum for which he arrived. And that’s a record that’s not about to fall…
