“I only see myself for having put an end to his life journey”. This is what Michel Fourniret explained about Lydie Logé, in 2019. Indicted for “kidnapping and sequestration followed by death”in 2020, the serial killer died in 2021, taking many of his secrets to the grave.
And among them, that of what happened to this woman, aged 29 and mother of a 7 year old little boy. She disappeared in December 1993 near Alençon.
Michel Fourniret’s accomplice speaks
According to information from RTL, the killer’s ex-wife, Monique Olivier, finally made big revelations in this matter. Herself indicted in early 2021 for complicity, she has already been convicted. And this, for eleven murders and complicity in murder, including twice at a time for life imprisonment.
Many families unfortunately rely on his testimony to find their loved ones. In May 2024, Monique Olivier therefore confessed that she had participated in the kidnapping and murder of Lydie Logé. “The septuagenarian gave precise instructions which places it at the scene of the events”explains RTL. And to add that she also “detailed what the young woman had suffered”of the one whose life and crimes she shared.
In detail, Monique Olivier explained that Lydie Logé had been kidnapped as she returned to her house in Saint-Christophe le-Jajolet. And to add that Michel Fourniret would have tried to rape her, but that he was ultimately unable to do so, due to lack of an erection.
In 2019, the killer had already explained about this victim: “She witnessed my incapacity“. He then mimed the way he had strangled Lydie Logé.
-Only hope of finding his body
Still according to our colleagues, Monique Olivier could well know where the remains of the victim are. She has not been found for over 30 years.
This week she will be released from prison, with the aim of giving indications on the burial place of Lydie Logé. “Lydie Logé’s family expects more than these confessions made by Monique Olivier“, declared to their lawyer, Me Corinne Hermann. “She is waiting for her to indicate the place where Lydie’s body was hidden” concluded the latter.
