PSG’s new player Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, who recently joined the club from Naples, faces disappointing news. The Georgian talent will not be able to help his new team in their UEFA Champions League clash against Manchester City, scheduled for next Wednesday.
According to L’Equipe, despite Kvaratskhelia’s absence from European competitions this season (after Napoli finished tenth in Serie A last year), he will have to watch the game from the stands.
The reason lies elsewhere: clubs participating in the Champions League can only field players who have been included on the squad list sent to UEFA before September 3 for this group stage of the new format.
-Therefore, Kvaratskhelia will also be unavailable for the match against Stuttgart on January 29.
If PSG progresses to the later stages of the tournament, the club will be able to register a maximum of three new players until 11:59 p.m. on February 6, 2025.
