As against Tomas Machac, we predicted a difficult match for Novak Djokovic against Jiri Lehecka. In the end, the Serb produced a very clean copy by dominating the Czech in three sets: 6–3, 6–4, 7–6(4), in 2h40 of play.
Worried in a few very short sequences, Nole dominated the proceedings and seemed to be able to take the break whenever he wanted. Even faster than in his previous round, he will now challenge Carlos Alcaraz in the quarter-finals.
Given the level offered by these two champions, we can expect to have a very high level duel. On the one hand, the Spaniard started his tournament at 100km/h without losing speed. On the other hand, the Serb started in diesel mode before finding the right carburetion. This promises a real gala match.
-The key to this duel will necessarily be linked to an explosive cocktail between precision, physical form, and pressure management which will be as strong as this summer at Roland-Garros during the Olympic final, won by Djokovic. The latter leads 4–3 in his duels against the Spaniard.
