Pam Shriver revealed she was the victim of a car theft while fleeing the ongoing fires in Los Angeles. 16 trophies won during his career were stolen.
The fires that have ravaged Los Angeles for ten days continue to cause damage. While rescue teams, accompanied by dogs and mounted police, search the rubble and steep areas, the human toll remains dramatic. To date, 27 people have lost their lives and dozens more are still missing, including in the Altadena and Pacific Palisades neighborhoods.
Several cases of looting were also reported in evacuated buildings. Nine people were even arrested in this context. One of the victims of these thefts is Pam Shriver. The former American tennis star, who shone in doubles by winning each grand slam tournament several times, announced that she had been the victim of a major theft.
Her car was stolen from the parking lot of a hotel where she had taken refuge during her flight. In the vehicle, the American was carrying 16 trophies, all won at grand slams. The former player called, in an interview with local television, for an end to these flights and for greater solidarity in this ordeal.
Very sad news.
